Greetings Sweet Beings!
Portland Moon Mystics (aka Ariel Hart, Bree Phillips and Cassie Weiss) are excited to gather with you to celebrate our connection to the ancestors and call in the darkness of Winter rest with a Samhain ceremony under the grounding light of full moon in Taurus.
Samhain is a pagan religious festival originating from an ancient Celtic spiritual tradition. In modern times, Samhain (a Gaelic word pronounced “SAH-win”) is usually celebrated from October 31 to November 1 to welcome in the harvest and usher in “the dark half of the year.” The Gaelic word broken down literally ‘summer’s end…from sam ‘summer’ + fuin ‘end’.
It is traditionally believed that the barriers between the physical world and the spirit world break down during Samhain, allowing more interaction between humans and the beings of the Otherworld.
Calling in protection from plant allies and our spirit team, our ritual will invite us to connect with a safe, healed, pre-colonial ancestor and receive loving guidance and wisdom from them as we express gratitude for the release of Fall and move into the deep resting time of Winter.
Bring snacks and/or tea to share, and let's amplify our intentions! You may choose to bring an offering for the Earth and the ancestors if you wish. This is a co-creative space for magick, healing, and connecting with community.
We are inspired by the sacredness of this container; we co-create brave space for the highest good of our community, collective, earth, moon, and the sacred feminine. Let us call in new ways of being! Holding a vision of a new earth that moves in right relationship and sacred reciprocity.
This event will take place outdoors underneath the covering of Stevens Pavilion Picnic Shelter and in a grassy field adjacent to the shelter. Please bring rain appropriate clothing or umbrella to stay dry during our ritual.
