Courage

With this new moon in Gemini, I’ve been pondering how Gemini (an air sign) is all about communication and also connected with The Lovers card in tarot. Clear and open communication requires a clear mind, yes. It also beckons the energy of the heart. After all, communication void of empathy or compassion rarely goes well.

Along with this dynamic, comes another that has been with me since our most recent gathering. It seems a little dash of heart is needed in every endeavor.

As the excitement from Embody Trust settles and the ripples continue to move through, another observation has emerged. I’ve noticed that we can’t have trust without having a bit of courage as well.

Be it with ourselves or others, challenging experiences can lead to being closed off, fearful, and untrusting. Where at one time trust may have come more easily, it can be conditioned out of us.

It takes bravery to trust when experience says “It’s too risky! You’re going to get hurt! Remember what happened last time?!?”. It takes courage to let go of old habits and try something new. When we find trust within ourselves, we’re able to be more courageous in action. The two are symbiotic. Each one contributing to the growth of the other.

When I ask my body what trust feels like, I get the feeling of walking forward with a vibrant, open heart.

The Latin root for the word courage is “cor” which means heart. The French word for heart is coeur and sounds similar to courage. Expressing our hearts and our love takes boldness. Had the cowardly Lion opened his heart, I believe he would’ve found himself much more daring.

Fear + Love = COURAGE!

When there is no fear, courage is not required. We move courageously WITH our fear, not in absence of it.

Trust your inner knowing and find yourself walking with emboldened steps. Find the fortitude needed to say the thing, hold the boundary, take the step, listen to intuition. Your bright, lifted, courageous heart is already within you. Let it shine!
